We understand the importance of performance AND style when it comes to modding your MINI Cooper. This product encompasses an excellent balance of both!
The 5-ply silicone tubing is available in both black and red, and the glossy exterior surface dresses up the engine bay for your next show n shine or just for your enjoyment during your next oil change.
Speaking of smooth, the ultra smooth interior surfaces of each tube remove intakes restriction that can otherwise hinder performance. Your car uses a turbocharger to force air into the motor, so any corrugation, dips, pits etc. all choke the efficiency of the turbo system. Additionally, your MINI came with a ridiculous muffler section on the hot side of the intercooler plumbing. This muffler literally robs the car of power. Our Boost Tube kit removes that muffler and makes a smooth transition from the turbo outlet directly into the intercooler.

Like the ALTA Turbo inlet hose, this part was initially designed as a dress up part with aperformance flair; we should have seen this as a performance part witha dressy look! Our boost tubes also remove the muffler of sorts in the hot side boost tube. While weknew our hoses were bigger than the OEM hoses, and much smoother allthe way down to the intercooler, we never said it made HP. Check outthe side by side comparisons below and you can see now why the gainswere seen.
This test shown below was done with the intake, turbo back,FMIC, turbo inlet hose and boost tubes installed. While theaforementioned items might contribute to the boost tube making thegains we saw, it is proof positive that the boost tube makes power.
The most important thing we noticed was the increase in boost. When the dyno was launching the car, the starting boost was about1.5psi higher, which this carried across the entire RPM band. Exceptabove 5700. This is where the ECU didn’t like seeing this extraboost. We don’t think it was boost cut as the engine didn’t stop itjust lowered the boost. With the smoother, and larger internals of ourALTA hose, it makes sense it makes more power. Now keep in mind thisis an entire replacement hose, not just a sleeve to get rid of thesilencer. I think a major reason why these make power is because theyget rid of the tight restrictive bends, and the larger inside diameter.
