  Adjustable throw and angle short shifter and shift knob

 There are several things that you grab EACH and EVERY time you drive your car. The door handle, the e-brake lever, the steering wheel etc. But one thing stands out from the rest and it is the gear selector and shifter. Think about it; every time you shift gears from a parking lot, your driveway or the auto cross course you are using the shifter. So why not make the shifter look and feel the way YOU want it to be, not the way MINI thought you might want it.
 
Announcing the ALTA Performance Short Shifter assembly. Our shifter has been a mainstay in MINI performance since we released it in Dec. of 2002. To date no other manufacturer has poured more time and effort into making one better.

Our shifter gives you total control over knob height, knob position and shifter throw. Why are these important? Well it is because we are ALL different in some way. Meaning that if you are a taller driver and you roll the seat back a ways the shifter can be difficult to reach. The ALTA Shifter incorporates a curved shaft that allows you to rotate the knob back to where you are. Conversely, if you are a shorter driver you will love the opportunity to place the knob closer to the dash. PLUS and this is huge, if you fall into our international clientele you will enjoy the fact that the knob can also rotate left and right to suit either steering wheel position.

Finally, the knob height and shift length can be controlled as well. So if you want the distance from first to second to be next to nothing you can do that. Plus the knob then gets close to the console.

Please note your build date on your vehicle prior to ordering: Production dates prior to 10/2003 use the 02/03 shifter. Production dates after 11/03 use the 04+ shifter. There are some vehicles in this area may have either shifter. Call us with any questions or concerns.
